Connect2Compete (C2C) is a program sponsored by a consortium of cable and Internet service providers nationwide. Locally, Cox Communications participates by offering affordable Internet access and devices to students and families that qualify for the National School Lunch Program. Recently, Cox Communications expanded its outreach to include families receiving services through Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). For participating families, there are no deposits, no installation costs and no modem rental fees. The monthly rate for those who qualify is $9.95 and this discounted rate is guaranteed for two years with no contract. Eligible families with children enrolled in K-12 may apply for the Connect2Compete discounted service online or by phone.
